It's precisely these sort of moments that really cheapen the "thrills". The film is riddled with them and they constantly undercut the suspense - what there is to start with.
It's like the film is constantly breaking the fourth wall, constantly reminding us it's "just a movie" and we shouldn't invest in any of the characters or their predicaments.
