By the way, aparently Protestors need to be APPROVED before hand or face arrest, and also I just heard ANYONE in Sydney can be fined for wearing "offensive T Shirts" while WYD occurs.
What country is this again?

I'm not sure what part of this is bad taste.
The event itself in which one religion totally monopolizes an entire city based on some idea that it is the most populous religion of Australia (it isn't, as it happens) the overzealous impropriety of the "security lockdown" being imposed on some areas of Sydney that will see some people enforced to take leave from work or stay indoors, or the absurd laws regarding protest whether it be a T-shirt slogan or a sign of protest. As one friend who spent too many years being sexually abused in a Catholic boarding school said, "There are some sanctimonious bastards out there who are going to be rubbing their hands together with glee and declaring - Ah! International Smörgåsbord!" And with impeccable timing, another cover up at the highest levels locally is uncovered. Look under Pell at www.smh.com.au if you are actually interested. Jesus (who, for the record, remains one of my favourite figures of history) would not be amused, entertained or otherwise impressed. I suspect he'd be turning this bunch of money merchants out on their well padded arses. Phil |

Talk about a picture worth a thousand words. These two are worth millions. So, I wonder if the rumours are true, that the massive hauls of art looted by the Nutzis during WW2 really are stashed in The Vatican? |
