Why do you think you will see trouble in Houston? Unless you mean from the parents?

Seeing Undertaker at Wrestlemania is well worth the flight .He better beat that punk Sean Michaels to remain undefeated at Wrestlemania, since Michaels owes
him a victory over their long careers.Only reason I buy that Pay Per View is to see Undertaker win.Undertaker loses and no more Wrestlemanias for me.

When i was in Houston there was a jrder outside the sleazt hotel i was staying in - cop cars everywhere.
Still, I was safe so all ok and that was 23 years ago. Ask Undertaker for protection, or maybe Ric Flair now that he's retired! |

Thinking of Motel 6 or some cheap hostel (as long as it's safe)
I kinda have an issue with autism : it went fine when I went to Stockholm but had kind of a melt down when I didn't reach my return flight and had to look for the damn bus for 30 mins , shoulda gotten up earlier : 2 hrs more time woulda made a world of difference ! I'd also like to go to Dallas and ask Chuck Norris if he'd sign some posters....lol (he might refuse but I'll never know before I ask......as long as he doesn't think I'm some dealer he'll sign....lol |

Ah, no worries about getting into trouble in Houston, CH. Despite all the ruckus about Texans shooting tourists and such, it's nothing personal -- Texans don't care where you come from to shoot you. (I'm kidding.) Texans are actually nice and friendly folks. In general, you won't find the standoffish and suspicious nature that I find among people in other parts of the U.S. People say hello to and talk to strangers and there is a general tendency to help out visitors to the state. Houston is not as liberal as Austin but not as conservative as you might expect of Texas cities. Houston is more relaxed than Dallas and definitely not as uptight and haughty. You don't have to be driving a Mercedes or BMW to get decent service in Houston. You'll like Houston and you're coming at a time when the Spring weather is nice. (I write this as there is a snow whiteout with 22mph winds in Juneau, AK. I never thought I'd actually miss a Houston Spring.) I had no idea that Houston also hosted Wrestlemania..... yet another thing to brag about when talking about my hometown. You'll definitely need a car if you plan to venture out to the various parts of Houston, unless you only plan on attending Wrestlemania and nothing else. Besides the Metro bus system, Houston does not have public transportation that I'd rely on. The MetroRail is very limited, but it does go to interesing places around downtown, the Texas Medical Center and a few of the bigger parks. Now, I am food oriented so I always urge visitors to try the various restaurants in Houston, which are excellent. If dining is not your thing, then at least eat crawfish. It's crawfish season and you have got to eat crawfish while it's the season. I am craving it so much right now, it's killing me. A friend of mine keeps calling me up to tell me how much crawfish she just had, because during the season we'll go get fresh boiled crawfish about 3-4 times a week. I can put away 10 pounds. Every restaurant has its own seasoning, but the best I've had have been at Magnolia Grill and the Ragin' Cajun, both on Richmond Avenue. If you do nothing else, at least go get some crawfish. Make sure you suck out the rich stuff in the heads of the crawfish -- the head is the best part. You're not really eating crawfish unless you're eating the rich dark yellow stuff inside the heads, too. Some places do all-you-can-eat crawfish, but in general, these crawfish tend to be smaller and not as good. You want the restaurants that have fresh live crawfish that they boil up fresh for you. If you don't have real Vietnamese food where you're from, you should go get some real Phở from a Vietnamese phở restaurant. Up and down Bellaire Blvd in Chinatown, you'll find plenty. There are also places in what used to be Little Saigon until it got taken over by what is now Midtown (yuppie townhouses, bars and restaurants.) This area will be closer to where you're going to be, I think. Up along Milam St., there are various Vietnamese plazas with restaurants and bakeries, like Phở Saigon. Oh, and I believe Houston also has the largest drive-through liquor store in the U.S, if not the world. Worth checking out if you've never seen anything like it. You'll have fun in Houston. Eat, drink and be wrestle-manic! Jeannie |

Remarkably you made that sound like a good idea, I think. Rich |

Doh! My bad... I just realized CH is perhaps a minor? CH, are you under 21? If so, strike what I wrote about the drive-thru liquor store! You should not,
definitely NOT, go anywhere near that liquor store.

21 is way too old to be the legal age, I remember when i was in USA and these people asked me to buy them booze, they looked grown up I asked why they couldnt,
they reply, you need to be 21, I said in Australia its 18 and they all wanted to move to oz, I asked how old they were. 20 years old. FARQ MAN, and you can
drive a car at what? 16? I( had a KID at 21.

CollectingHistory I am raising a grandson with Aspergers I am fully aware of the Meltdowns, audio and visual overloads, changes in routines, unneccessary fear
etc;
sometimes going to the grocery store with him in Tow is quite an experience, going to Wallmart or Best Buy (We usually get seperated) and I get repeatedly called on the PA to come get a very distraught child (4 times last try) at whitch point I give up try to shop and just come home. He is very high functioning, brilliant in fact and reads at a college level, but things like the wind and the trees in the Disney film Snow White will keep us indoors with the windows boarded for weeks, and No people with Autism shouldnt drink Give yourself plenty of time and you know what calms you, remember it, and use it when you start getting overwhelmed and feel the meltdown coming on! My Grandson has gotten me into WrestlleMania, its a gas, get there and Enjoy!!!!!! Susan Last time I was in Texas, I got hauled in, I had a small bag of Mary Jane, the Rangers pulled the bag out of my pocket and said Whats this? Is this Marijuwana? ,plus they didnt like it that I had love beads in my hair and was showing my belly button. This was back in 73 or? I spent 3 days in the pokey (more like a dog Kennel) then driven to the State Line and told to never come back (didnt have to tell me twice) hightailed it back to Oklahoma and then thumbed my way back to California.

Yeah , I might meet Taker soon if I don't start changing my diet (and that's NO joke :/ Chuck Norris begs to differ with that though......he will decide himself when it's time I'm not a minor , I'm almost 30.....unless if we're talking about getting cheap accommodation , then yes I AM a minor *wink wink* LOL , saw a guy on Cops that was busted with 2 ounce coke , he thought he was gonna go free with just a fine and the cop just "not in Texas !"

CH, if you are almost 30, then why are your parents concerned? from your initial post, i think we all thought you were 17 or 18..
you're a big boy now... you can go and fly wherever you'd like. jeff |

Jeff, I don't think the concern is CH's age...it's any possible complications arising from him dealing with Autism away from his family
