Hoax, ok good.
What joke? Actually when I read that I felt a bit sad, whereas Jacko, to be honest didn't really bother me too much, just a bit more circus. |

what I find odd is whenever someone dies all of a sudden everyone loves them, a week ago if we saw a JACKSON thread here Id bet 99% would have hated him. Maybe
not, but PERSONALLY, him dying doesnt make me like him, his music or his antics.

Ari Richards wrote:I grew up with Jackson 5 memories from when they began performing on TV in the 1960s I was later surprised when he ressurected himself as an adult with Thriller however after Thriller, it became pretty obvious that Jacko was Wacko I cannot say that I was ever a "Jackson Fan" although I do know we loved his Jackson 5 TV appearances. In more recent years he obviously suffered from emotional diseases and most certainly - bad press. I don't know whether he ever molested children, but the saying goes "where there's smoke, there's fire".. there was an awful lot of smoke surrounding Michael I never hated him.. but I have felt sorry for him and I still do.. I wonder if like Elvis, people will think he is alive and shopping at a supermarket in Vegas and only is fooling us so he can live a normal life.. I mean, Michael wasn't the only wacko around.... |

Though perhaps I shouldn't have, since it wasn't proven, I did think he was a paedophile.
And my belief that got off with it, and the fans refusal to see it made me think even less of him, them and the whole circus. The whole reaction to Diana dying, where mass hysteria raised the "peoples' Princess" to the level of a saint, just made me think worse of her. Already didn't think that much of her, but I ended up reacting to the beatification by reducing her in my mind to a batty, self-serving media whore and international slapper. Though she probably wasn't quite that bad. But her having the poor taste to trump Mother Teresa of Calcutta's death only helped to highlight the ridiculousness of it. Who having spent a full lifetime dedicating herself to the poor, was old, wrinkly, and hadn't been doing it in Versace. So who gives a fuck about her then. Rich |

Some one the Jackson 5's hits (and other Motown tunes) were co-written/produced by well-known poster dealer Deke Richards.

A talented artist who had a huge impact on pop music. That said, I probably don't feel any sadder about him now than I've felt for the past 10-15
years, watching him sloooooowly self-destruct. If he'd ODed or died in a plane crash when he was much younger, BEFORE all the cosmetic surgery and bizarre
allegations, how he would be remembered would be a different story. He'd be up there with Otis Redding and Jimi Hendrix. BUT you can bet, once he's in
the ground and all the book deals are signed we're going to be hearing about a lot more really weird shit that never got made public in the past.
Yet more proof that if you start off with problems, money and fame not only can't fix them, but make them a whole lot worse (Howard Hughes, anyone?). Like I said, it's sad and has been for years...

Can't wait for the "weird shit stories". God knows the media has nothing to write about as it is.
I mean, it's not as though we The Taxpayers are going to rue the day we bailed out the world's banking multi-millionaire Masters Of The Universe to the tune of $4 trillion. What we really want to know is if Jackson bleached his skin, or if it was a medical condition. And if he had a penis. |

When I heard I just thought of the boy wonder who revolutionised pop music and the story of the phone call from Fred Astaire after his performance of Billie
Jean at Motown 25.
"Oh, God! That boy moves in a very exceptional way. That's the greatest dancer of the century". - Fred Astaire "I didn't want to leave this world without knowing who my descendant was. Thank you Michael!"- Fred Astaire (shortly before
his death)
I have decided to live forever or die in the attempt.

i know he was `wacko' but it's still sad to see him die at such a young age. He did produce some influential and catchy music in the 80s.
Seems there were prescription drugs involved, a-la Elvis |

I have the same block with spelling "Michael", Ari. I've had it forever. The whole Mike / Michelle / Michale f's with me when I try to write
it. I thought I was the only one.

Thanks for that clip, honeybryder. I've always been a fan of his music. From J5 years to the late 80s.
The most innate understanding and feel for music of any performer of that century. Only comparable to Fred Astaire. On that note.. Best lyricist / singer-song writer of the last century: Paul McCartney |
