Yeah sorry Ari, umm I also have the fotobusta set. On the plus side I've probably saved them for posterity. These posters were in a box with a few others I
had to throw away due to typical Italian mould. (Too bad too, Monsieur with Jean Gabin for example). The smell of these posters was quite horrid.

theres actually 3 UK 1 sheeters, the usual one (purple), plus a red and a yellow one (similar to your italiano) but Ive only seen the three for sale once. from
a car memorabillia online store.
I have a wall devoted to Hell Drivers, and watch it regulary, and still my wife and daughter refuse. B/w, Trucks, who cares? Great film, Ari |

Same here. Alas b&w is confused with slow and boring. My eldest refused to watch La Haine because it "has black and white in it". Got him to
watch Raging Bull though, and he finished it. Love Stanley Baker, his face was made for b&w

I never understand why people think B/W means boring, but it seems to be a common misconception. Same with Silent = boring. JUST WATCH IT AND SEE. but ahh
well, what do you do? and yes, Stanley baker is a fine actor, wih tough as nails face - perfect for the role.

Yes, anyone who has not embraced HELL DRIVERS is an idiot.
Stanley Baker and his producing partner, Cy Endfield, did some great stuff. Baker died way too young. HELL DRIVERS has an amazing cast of just-about-to-break-through British and Scottish actors. Baker and Endfield were great star spotters - putting a virtually unknown Michael Caine in ZULU, just as they did with Patrick MacGoohan and Sean Connery in HELL DRIVERS along with David McCallum, Jill Ireland (where they met, perhaps?) Sid James, Herbert Lom, Gordon Jackson, William Hartnell and the great Peggy Cummins. Americans interested should make sure they get a hold of the UK DVD which is the full version (the US sliced 10 minutes out for US release) and has some fascinating extras. Um, and anybody who doesn't want to watch either a black and white film or a silent film is also an idiot.... only marginally surpassed by people who won't watch films with subtitles. |
