Felt original, non-pandering, and "true." Slightly embarrassing to feel so moved by the muppets in the end scene, but that's how good those characters were. What a great, brave choice not to use CGI (for the most part) for the creatures. One of the highlights of the year for me. Yes, it was magical. (And not even Karen O. could fuck this one up, although she did her best at times.) Eric

The only thing that I didn't care for was Tony Soprano's voice coming out of the main Wild Thing, which felt like an entirely unnecessary distraction. They could have toned down the music at times, but I though the soundtrack worked really well overall. Her cover of Worried Shoes was nice... I do, I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.

I don't know if it's me and my fond memories of childhood with these type of children's programmes but it seems the intelligence and inventiveness that goes into children's programmes so many years ago is just on a different level from children's programmes today. I've got a load of Beaker and Dr Bunsen Honeydew to go through later, I'm looking forward to that. Simon I have decided to live forever or die in the attempt.

You know, I didn't notice Soprano's voice that much until later in the film. I thought he worked overall, but I could see it being a distraction if you had a strong connection to Soprano's voice (I don't -- and I am usually pretty bad at recognizing voices anyway -- if I had not read in advance that Gandolfini (sp?) did the voice, I may not have known). The music was a bit much at times, particularly the "happy" tunes. But I have to confess that she did a pretty good job on it. Don't know the song Worried Shoes, however. Eric

She has moments where she is positively feral (along with some more over the top stuff you'd expect from Whale); a far cry from getting carried around by Karloff or getting a grapefruit in the kisser. Had absolutely no idea she had it in her. At times she reminded me of my all time fave Ann Savage in "Detour," and that's a compliment. --Peter

Certainly splendid to watch and properly creepy and interesting/suspenseful here and there but just not enough to really make me take notice. It definitely has its moments though.

Is this the US version of John Cleese? as in funny, talented, but deep down so very depressed and NOT funny off camera? I like the show. My Wife loves a show called ROCK OF LOVE or something, a reality show about some loser has been "rock" star who basically has a heap of implanted women drooling all over him to win the prize and get married to him. What I dont get about these shows is... OK, you love ("LOVE") him, he Loves ("LOVES") you, but he also "LOVES a dozen others and can't make up his mind, but you still STICK AROUND and try and win. If I liked a girl, and she said IM NOT SURE, ITS BETWEEN YOU AND (Insert name/s here), id say, DONT BOTHER - SHE'LL BE APPLES, ADIOS AMIGO, WORSE THINGS HAPPEN AT SEA, These shows frustrate me because you can see its all about WINNING not the "prize" Ari

I was in tears laughing last night watching it. And Ive watched it over and over for most of my life. Cosby though I find is also good at physical humour, like Kramer in Seinfeild, he had a character that you grow to enjoy their peculiar way of moveing. Cosy is mainly in his face, but when he dances you see it also. Ari

First, 1984's The Dark Glow of the Mountains by Werner Herzog. An excellent look at people who climb mountains and Werner trying to find out why they do it. Superb soundtrack by Popul Vuh, of course, and there is one truly moving moment of pure emotion that sorta sneaks in and grabs you by the throat. Second, 1968's Les Enfants de Néant by Michel Brault. Actually, he co-directed it. A Canadian goes to France and makes a film about the changing face of agriculture and industrialisation in Brittany and how it affects one man in particular who gives up farming for a factory job. A great look at a changing time and the clash of two centuries. Also, the shots in the factory are fantastically done.
