Just finished watching the original '83 mini-series V, and am now working through the sequel.
Last night, I revisited The Changeling. Still one of the best haunted house movies ever. |

Never seen it, heard tons about it. Excellent! I don't really like Hackman but in this one he's all quiet and going mad so he's great. And John Cazale is in there too so you know that's always awesome. Anyway, it's superb! |

Going to see Moon (Sam Rockwell) tonight for the first time. Really thrilled about seeing it. Solaris and Sunshine quickly come to mind seeing the trailer (for Moon). |

Just saw "Not Quite Hollywood". Great fun, can't wait to see Howling 3: The Marsupials. Loads of movies I had not heard of before and a few songs
by one of my used-to-be favorite bands Angel City.

Devil wears Prada........meh , only decent thing was Streep.
Up close & personal......meh , not really entertaining despite Redford & Pfeiffer. Broketown Palace.......good movie

Both of Simon's Hackman recommendations are terrific, and for quite different reasons. NIGHT MOVES is just short of a classic. Find Alan Sharpe's
novelisation of his own screenplay if you like the film.
It's clear from that there is a "pre-credits" sequence - deleted - that puts the Hackman character far more in perspective for the plot that unfolds. Check out Sharpe's other scripted films, too. The best Scotsman who ever wrote a western! |
