Possible spoilers for the uninitiated......
CLOVERFIELD.... ultimately, I liked it a great deal. Perhaps the best re-tread of a 50s monster on the loose film yet, and just like those 50s greats, once you removed the mile long credits, it clocked in at around 75 minutes. Terrific use of FX, and like WOLF CREEK by spending some time with the characters first, you actually care a bit about what happens to them. 1408.... along with THE MIST, this is one of the best Stephen King adaptations, that seems to have got lost in the shuffle... or maybe it was "too complicated" or too downbeat.... .... and after 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, it's good to see 4 or 5 horror movies in a row (these already mentioned) that have non-cop-out or feelgood endings. There's a definite trend now, reflecting the times we live in, just like the 50s SF and horror films so accurately reflected the Cold War period. IRON MAN... terrific from start to finish, thanks to Robert Downey Jnr and Jeff Bridges (gee, the two most under-rated actors in America together in the one movie.....) |

CUT AND RUN rewatch, man that film is the BEST actioner, after Last hunter EVER. Farq the opening scene is awsome.
apart from that TRASHARAMA festival (www.trasharama.com.au) Where my film THE LOVE OF VICTORIA ANUS was screened, had a ball, offended some, most cheered. Ari |

Ah well, since I am here anyway, I might just as well post some more new trash from Japan:
Umberto Lenzi's PARANOIA
DOG SOLDIERS (usually I don't collect newer posters, but I liked the artwork here)

Oh, man! Armin, those are awesome. I'm going to check the site and see if they're for sale! Sadomania!
And thanks for telling those people to get it together with their talk of recently viewed films. |

Just finished photographing a small archive of Orson Welles stills I got recently. I know they're stills, but I like this set of Macbeths. This is how in
the late forties stills were used for display in Dutch cinema's. I also got a few from A Matter Of Life And Death this way.
